Some people may have deficiency in cheekbone and others in the tip of lower chin. These deformities are usually treated with facial prostheses. Facial prostheses are the prostheses added on the facial bones in order to enlarge them. The aim is to enlarge a small chin or deficient cheekbones and making them processed.
Additionally, different techniques are available to correct deficiencies of the tip of lower chin. These techniques include lipofilling (fat injection), shifting the chin bone or grafting with bone obtained from another site.
Operations for aesthetics of chin and cheekbone, when they are planned well, may have such excellent results that can’t be anticipated. The operation may be performed under local or general anesthesia and its duration is 1 to 3 hours entirely depending on the technique used and the number and type of the prostheses placed. The patient is discharged on the same or following day.
