Lipofilling

It is injection of the adipose tissue taken from a part of the body into another one in order to correct the body contour, to decrease the evidence of aging lines on the face, to weight the lips, to give a more full appearance to the weak faces and to eliminate facial asymmetries. Fat to be used for injection may be taken by liposuction or direct incisions. The intervention may be performed under general or local anesthesia depending on the extent of the procedure. Small bruising, swelling, and numbness may occur on the site of injection. Usually, this condition spontaneously resolves within 7 to 10 days. About one half of the fat injected is absorbed during the first 6 months. The remaining half is permanent.
